The amp has a "Pure: Direct" setting, which I thought might just output exactly what the file is on my Plex server, but to my ears that sounds worse. The receiver will change to a DTS or Dolby surround setting, if I change it myself via the remote control, but nowhere do I see a mention of Atmos on the amp, or even know if the setting change actually works, because I can change the setting to DTS etc regardless of what the source is. So when I play a 4K, DTS-HD, TrueHD, 7.1 Atmos movie file from my Plex server, how do I know if I am actually getting this audio? ![]() Whether I watch Netflix via the XB1X app, or play a video game, or switch to the Plex app, the front of the receiver reads the same: Multi Channel In, HDMI, PCM, Dig. I was hoping that the receiver would automatically change when a different source is selected, but this does not seem to be the case. I am trying to get the best audio possible, but it's hard to know if my receiver is decoding the audio correctly or not. I have my Xbox audio setting as HDMI 7.1 uncompressed. I have a Plex Media server on my iMac, where I play movies over wifi on Plex on the Xbox 1X, which is routed to my Denon AVR1200W receiver. ![]() ![]() Guys I am reading so much conflicting info on this it's driving me a little insane, I would really appreciate anyone's help here.
